What will we ask you to do?  

  • Effectively communicate and document project issues and decisions through telephone conversations, meetings, memos, transmittals, letters and reports.
  • Actively communicate project status with Project Architect and Project Manager, and others as required.
  • Provide construction phase services in conformance with Owner-Architect Agreement.
  • Visit the job site at intervals appropriate to the construction in progress. 
  • Become familiar with the progress and quality of the work and determine if it conforms to the Construction Drawings and Specifications. 
  • Thoroughly review and understand the contract documents for each specific project.
  • Provide appropriate field reports along with job progress photos, as required.
  • Issue prompt responses and interpretations to contractors’ questions (including PFIs), consulting with the project team and Owner as applicable.
  • Review the Contractors' applications for payment.
  • Actively participate in the review and processing of shop drawings, samples, and other submissions by the Contractor, for conformance with design intent and contract documents.
  • In coordination with the Project Architect, implement and/or initiate Bulletins, Clarifications or Change Orders as required.
  • Conduct project closeout inspections and review final punch lists.  Advise contractors of deficiencies.
  • Participate in all appropriate construction phase meetings.
  • In conjunction with the Project Architect, coordinate field activities of project consultants.
  • Update the field set of contract documents (drawings and specifications) with all documented changes.
  • Obtain from contractors all required close-out documents and certificates for occupancy.  Coordinate the completion of Record Documents.
  • Participate in the firm's Quality Management Systems, reviewing projects in design phases for constructability issues.

Qualifications

  • Technical/college degree or advanced education in building construction, engineering or architecture minimum
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in construction supervision/coordination
  • LEED AP preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and REVIT
  • Strong design, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of building construction methods and materials and MEP systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare specific design and equipment requirements
  • Thorough understanding of the role of architectural field representation and accompanying risk management and liability issues
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without immediate and constant supervision
  • Skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented, as well as communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing
