Overview

We are seeking a high-energy, talented, Interior Designer to join our team of professionals. The Interior Designer performs diverse tasks on multiple projects and enthusiastically supports and communicates the firm's design philosophy in their daily work. This position shall build interior design skillsets consistent with the goals and resources of DesignGroup, with oversight from the Senior Interior Designer.

 

What will we ask you to do?  

  • Active participation and coordination pertaining to interior space planning and programming, FF&E, signage and graphics, artwork, lighting and other interior elements.
  • Participate in coordination with MEP engineers and other consultants pertinent to the delivery of a project.
  • Support the development and production of construction documents accurately.
  • Support the development of interior design documentation and delivery while contributing to program integrity and design intent throughout all phases of a project: Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation and Contract Administration. 
  • Participation in marketing the firm's qualifications by providing support with presentations, job interviews, and networking efforts.
  • Assist in incorporating the design/interior elements in the building on paper to produce constructible drawings that clearly communicate the design, details, finishes, materials, furniture, equipment, wayfinding and signage that result in a purposeful collection of design intent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited university
  • 3-5 years of relevant interior design project experience in the A/E industry
  • Working toward NCIDQ certification.
  • Possesses a sense of ownership
  • Works well under pressure
  • Exhibited strong verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Proven computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, database, and Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign) applications
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to include managing multiple tasks and deadline driven workload
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented, as well as communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing.
