Feeling Valued and Heard
A sense of belonging is the heartbeat of our culture. We consider this a benefit because we know it’s uncommon. In fact, we believe in our people’s voices so much, we routinely put them into the world.
Be yourself and thrive.
There are two very important reasons diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are priorities at DesignGroup. First, they’re paramount to the work we do. Environments we design are used by people with vastly different ages, backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. For a building to be successful, it must be welcoming, easily understood, and empowering for all who use it.
Second, these priorities are essential to the productivity of our team and the success of our business. Because the best ideas and outcomes happen in a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and heard. A diverse workplace is how we achieve these ideals.
Our DEIB Commitment
We are committed to providing a safe work environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect, and placed in positions to contribute to our future success. We seek to achieve equitable inclusion of people of all gender identities, ages, races, ethnicities, national origins, cultures, religious or political beliefs, languages, education levels, socioeconomic backgrounds, family or relationship statuses, sexual orientations, genetics, and/or abilities.
Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Program provides a framework for related initiatives and policies across the firm. When communication, transparency, and trust are achieved, great things are possible.
DesignGroup’s commitment to DEIB extends to all areas of our business, including recruitment, job assignment, compensation and benefits, talent development, skills enhancement, promotions, employee retention, flexible work arrangements, forms of leave available to employees, policies and procedures and succession planning. Our policies apply to all employees and anyone conducting work on behalf of DesignGroup or any of its operating companies.
Our Code of Ethics
DesignGroup’s Code of Ethics has been, and continues to be, an important part of the our corporate culture. We encourage associates to embrace this Code of Ethics as their own professional philosophy.
1.
Serve clients competently and exercise unprejudiced professional judgment on their behalf.
2.
Conduct ourselves in a professional manner to instill confidence, respect and trust.
3.
Serve and promote the public interest through respect for the natural environment and service to the community.
4.
Enhance the public understanding of our profession.
5.
Accurately represent our professional qualifications.
Curiosity and professional growth are simply a way of life here.
Through our unique DesignGroup University (DGU), the firm is committed to the continuing education of both staff and clients. Our annual design trips take us to new places where we can examine, contemplate, discuss, and grow. This commitment to lifelong learning extends into the communities where our projects have touched the lives of children, teens, and adults.
DesignGroup’s role in civic engagement extends far beyond client work.
We volunteer untold hours (and sweat equity) to professional and human services organizations. Our associates are deeply involved in community organizations such as the Discovery District, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and others that advocate for beautiful, sustainable neighborhood growth and preservation. And we generously donate time and treasure to Pelotonia, United Way, Light of Life, and other social causes. It’s how we give back to the cities that have given us so much.
DesignGroup is committed to the practice of equality in employment for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or military veteran status. DesignGroup actively seeks diversity in building our team of professionals.
