OSU engaged DesignGroup to do a planning study to determine the best fit, location and style of residential product that they should build. The study resulted in the four-story, 120-bed residence hall.

The building was carefully designed and sited to allow for the addition of a second phase in the future, while creating a residential experience at Newark. It was also sited to set-up to capitalize on the campus’ existing assets, most notably its mature natural surroundings.

In addition to three floors of beds, McConnell Hall features a flexible event space for up to 300 people, a variety of collaboration spaces, lounges and kitchens.
