Immersing Students in Language and Learning
LEED Silver Certified by U.S. Green Building Council
Columbus Design Award by The American Institute of Architects
The mission of the Columbus Spanish Immersion Academy is to promote, through a global approach, the acquisition of the Spanish language and an awareness and knowledge of the various cultures that are encompassed by the Spanish-speaking world.
Students are immersed in the Spanish language from kindergarten through first grade, which means they are taught 100% in Spanish for the first two years. English classes are reintroduced at the second-grade level.
The goal of this program is to provide the highest quality education for all students through the cooperation of staff, parents, and community representatives in a caring, productive environment, which is conducive to meeting the total needs of each child.
This project included the abatement and demolition of an existing school building on the project site and the construction of a new school building for grades Pre-K through 8th.
Time-tested insight. Forward-thinking design.
