Crawford Hoying engaged DesignGroup to provide design services for a mixed-use development that was both high-quality contemporary design and met a price point not provided by other developments in Downtown Columbus. Of the 120 residential units, 44 are considered micro-units at 450 SF each. The 11-story building includes 21 parking spaces and 2,100 SF of retail and amenity space on the first floor.

Located in the heart of the River South District in Columbus, Ohio, this project is reimagining the alley system by focusing on ground floor retail, resident amenities and engaging potential public art opportunities on Cherry Street. The transparent base of the building creates a sense of openness and vibrancy, contributing to street-level activity on both High and Cherry. A rooftop amenity deck is situated with an emphasis toward the west to take advantage of panoramas of sunsets, fireworks, Scioto Mile and the Scioto Peninsula.

The overall form and gesture of the building is intentionally simple, emphasizing elegant proportions and the subtle detailing of only two major materials. The design team was interested in creating a building design that projected a cosmopolitan persona with a slender, dramatic High Street façade.
