You will work alongside talented project teams to plan, design, and produce high-quality documents that shape inspiring interiors. From conceptual design through contract administration, you will be hands-on across multiple exciting ventures. Guided by our Senior Interior Designer, you’ll hone your skills and grow within a supportive environment that values innovation and excellence.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design & Documentation
      • Assist in all phases of project design: Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Contract Administration.
      • Develop an understanding of interior construction methods, materials, finishes, and their costs.
      • Create interior finish palettes, order material samples, and ensure material suitability for commercial environments.
      • Convey design intent through two- and three-dimensional drawings, including spatial diagrams, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings.
    • Project Collaboration & Communication
      • Work with internal teams, clients, and consultants to communicate project goals and provide effective design solutions.
      • Collaborate daily with Project Designers, Project Architects, and Project Managers to develop interior design solutions that are both constructible and affordable.
      • Participate in marketing efforts by preparing presentation materials, attending job interviews, and networking.
    • Client & Consultant Coordination
      • Understand client objectives while balancing project scope, budget, and schedule.
      • Actively participate in meetings with MEP engineers and consultants to ensure project coordination.
      • Engage with clients and team members to build consensus on design solutions, leveraging effective communication skills.
    • Interior Design Development
      • Work closely with the Senior Interior Designer, Code/ADA specialists, and cost estimators to develop compliant and feasible design solutions.
      • Contribute to the development of construction documents, ensuring accuracy and program integrity.
      • Assist in interior space planning, programming, FF&E selection, signage, lighting, and other elements that influence the project’s interior environment.
    • Library & Team Support
      • Support the Interiors Team with tasks such as Library organization, product updates, coordinating lunches, and meeting minutes.
      • Actively engage in internal groups and educational programs to build connections within DG and further your knowledge of the firm’s culture.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Interior Design or Architecture from a four-year college or university.
    • Experience 2- 5 years of professional office experience with a focus on commercial interior design.
    • Team Collaborator: Balancing collaborative teamwork with individual responsibilities, fostering a positive team spirit, and actively contributing to team success.
    • Quality Advocate: Exhibiting precision, thoroughness, and an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Efficient Executor: Completing tasks promptly and consistently striving to enhance productivity.
    • Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills, from reading and analyzing documents to presenting information effectively.
    • Design Skills: Ability to develop and convey design concepts through drawings, models, and renderings. Experience with detailed design, including finishes, materials, furniture, signage, and wayfinding, ensuring cohesive design intent throughout project.
    • Your Toolset: Proficiency in REVIT, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Word & Excel.
    • Licensure: Membership or accreditation in IIDA, ASID, AIA, and/or USGBC is preferred. WELL/LEED AP and NCIQ certification (or in process).
