Senior Project Architect - Healthcare

Are you a visionary architect passionate about innovative healthcare design? Join our dynamic team as a Senior Project Architect, leading and inspiring project teams to deliver exceptional mid-large scale healthcare projects. We seek a seasoned professional with a blend of technical expertise and creative vision to bring our clients' dreams to life. This role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, managing multiple responsibilities, guiding junior staff, presenting new design concepts, and representing our firm to clients.

Your Essential Duties 

  • Serve as the technical leader of a project team, collaborating closely with the Project Manager, clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to translate design intent into construction documents.
  • Interpret client briefs, prepare designs, and plan projects, ensuring both aesthetic and functional considerations are equally prioritized.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of junior staff, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain construction progress records, oversee project documents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent our firm in client meetings, present new design concepts, and lead owner/user meetings during the Design Development phase.
  • Act as a mentor to new architects, assisting them in refining their design skills and expanding their industry knowledge.
  • Work with project team members to deliver and execute project designs.
  • Identify project objectives, develop options, and create innovative solutions for on-site conditions.
  • Direct and oversee work coordination among team members and consultants.
  • Collaborate with the Project Designer, Interior Designer, and Planner to develop comprehensive construction documents.
  • Ensure all technical requirements are met and conduct thorough quality reviews.
  • Lead code reviews and coordinate with code officials to secure necessary approvals.
  • Manage tasks related to Construction Administration and approve shop drawings.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants to facilitate smooth project progression and successful outcomes.

Location:

 This position is based out of our Pittsburgh office but open to being fully remote from Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Bachelors degree in Architecture; Masters Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience with a focus on mid-large scale healthcare projects.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in Construction Administration and technical knowledge of healthcare environments.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide teams to achieve extraordinary design solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for managing projects and maintaining relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency with CAD, REVIT, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Licensure: A professional license as a Registered Architect is required.
