Crafting the Campus Experience
The Forbes Hall housing renovation includes the full demolition and re-build of an underutilized office space within this existing residence hall. The project area is approximately 5,300 SF and provides space for 14 new double occupancy dorm rooms for a total of 28 new beds on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Two of the rooms provide an accessible layout and 2 of the 8 new single occupancy bathrooms are also an accessible layout. Project scope also include upgrades to the staff lounge, housekeeping and laundry areas.
New student study and lounge spaces are also provided as common amenity areas. The team worked to accentuate ceiling heights within the tight constraints provided by the existing space, and align this with the design for mechanical and electrical systems.
