Improving Patient and Visitor Experience

For this renovation project, the team focused on converting and modernizing a floor of clinics and a separate floor of double-occupancy rooms into peaceful, private patient-focused care rooms. Also included in the design were renovated staff support core spaces which increased efficiency, improved visibility, and split into zones for flexibility. The renovation improved the patient and visitor experience, including a new family respite and vending area at the elevator lobby area.

Acoustic baffles at nurse stations absorb sound and act as an eye-catching wayfinding element for visitors. Integrated artwork throughout the units on each floor provides a cohesive, pleasant look. In addition to enhanced features, the project also replaced old, drafty windows with high-efficiency units and insulation in an otherwise uninsulated concrete building for added comfort and sustainability.
