New free-standing campus that includes a Freestanding Emergency Department and Medical Office Building
Freestanding Emergency Department includes ten inpatient beds for potential overnight stay without transporting to parent hospitals
Medical Office Building provides connecting corridor to emergency center for convenience to patients and physicians
The new facility was a joint venture of two hospital systems (Mount Carmel Health System and Fairfield Medical Center). Communication and cooperation by all parties were key ingredients to the success of this project
Planning of facilities had to allow for future expansion of campus to include a full-fledged hospital, additional Medical Office Buildings, associated parking growth, and circulation on the campus
Both hospital systems recognized benefits of pursuing LEED Gold Certification as a minimum
