DesignGroup is currently working on the completion of the new Oncology Clinics in the existing Bing Cancer Center. This design-build effort has energized the OhioHealth presence in Central Ohio for cancer patients. The project involves over 11,000 square feet on the main level in Bing. The image above shows one of the two caregiver stations in the Infusion Center. This centralized location provides for direct observation into each of the private infusion bays.
The completely renovated Bing Conferencing Center is now home to the BMT Outpatient Clinic and BMT Oncology Infusion. The Infusion center has 15 new private Infusion spaces along with two large private infusion rooms. There is also an Apheresis Room with two collection bays for various blood components.
The BMT Clinic has 10 new Exam Rooms which are designed with the new OhioHealth standards that incorporate flexible, yet space-saving design metrics. In addition, the Clinic has a Procedure room which is capable of Class II biopsy procedures. Paramount in the discussion of building expansion space for the new programs was the addition of internal office space (located at the back of the clinics). This internal space is planned for flexible workspace during the growth of the new service lines. It will also serve as a possible area to grow into as the programs evolve.
