With a desire to be centrally located and closely linked to the Pittsburgh community, DesignGroup established their second office location at Nova Place in Pittsburgh’s North Shore. Anchored by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Buhl Community Park at Allegheny Square and just steps away from the firm’s clients, the space provides ideal connections and convenience for employees.
The new office provides an open, collaborative workspace, designed for flexibility and growth. After establishing the three primary spaces of the office, a formal meeting and collaboration space, kitchen hub and workstations, the design team worked closely with user groups from DesignGroup’s Columbus and Pittsburgh offices to understand spatial needs and requirements for the workstations. They include adjustable height desks, two different locations for monitor arms, integrated storage and hideaway seating on a mobile pedestal for a guest. DesignGroup’s collaborative culture will be encouraged by these flexible workstations.
The formal meeting space features design on display with comfortable, well-designed furnishings. Cable and wire management are integrated in the walls and furniture, providing a clean, streamlined aesthetic. The meeting space for 8-10 people features interactive touch screen technology with table-top functionality, enabling seamless communication capability with DesignGroup’s Columbus office.
A second collaborative, more informal space in the office is the kitchen hub. This space includes a large island with seating adjacent to team workstations. The kitchen hub was also designed to include additional space for team members from other offices to use as a touch-down space before and after meetings.
