Rev1 Ventures is an investor startup studio that combines capital and strategic services to help startups scale. They connect startups and corporate innovation teams to create beneficial partnerships. Rev1 Gateway Office accommodates the company’s administrative department, approximately 34 people. Previously, they were fragmented into separate areas within a re-purposed warehouse, which made it difficult to collaborate. The majority of employees were also working in areas with no access to natural light.
The design concept is a reflection of the company’s highly collaborative culture. It was important for the office to have a mix of spaces that foster the individual and collaboration (“I” space vs “WE” space). At the main entrance, the new Rev1 Gateway Office features an innovation hub including touchdown spaces for guests, a coffee bar, shuffleboard, cozy booths for informal collaboration, and a large meeting space. This meeting space functions as a board room and has a large operable wall that opens up to the innovation hub for large after-hours events.
It is no secret that innovation happens in a collaborative environment. Rev1’s new Innovation Hub encourages collaborative group work in a bright, energized and highly-flexible space with varying furniture types and flexible walls creating adjust-a-size gathering spaces, all while overlooking OSU’s bustling Gateway District.
The program includes a mix of open workstations and private offices to address the individual staff needs such as acoustics, natural light, and close proximity to meeting rooms and each other. The private offices were designed to flex as meeting rooms based on future needs.
Rev1 sought out quality furniture and brand elements made locally to include in their innovation hub showcasing their commitment to growing local business and industry innovators.
